We have a dusting here, about 30-40 minutes of steady snow

Shrewsbury often good, just wets the ground here

Stopped now and skies have cleared. Its left a thin layer of slush on a few surfaces is all, but there could be more to come perhaps?

Do you see how close Birmingham was to the snow for tomorrow night on the bbc weather? I still think it’s going to go slightly further south and bring us in the game.

Shows a spell of snow for Stoke. Not convinced myself but shift the bugger another 20 miles south and I'll be happy!

Didn't see that, and with the continual southern shift on the models we could be in the game. I fear though that the uppers and DP will not be playing ball!

Well we've had another shower this evening, but the really noticiable thing tonight is the black ice which is lethal (I just walked the dog and was sliding all over) and the wind chill which is biting.

Someone mentioned the wind chill up over the Peak District, it can be lethal up there when it blows.

Initial forecast for winter 2017-18 as a 'front loaded' was spot on. December was quite exciting, can't see anything in near future now.

Jan and Feb are over rated, might see some snow in March or April though, but this season good, but a poor version of 2010-2011, that winter finished around Jan 9

We're only at the half way mark, there's no way we can know for sure how the next month and a half will pan out.

This westerly is absolute rubbish for here. Been watching the showers moving north and south of here for hours. The odd one that moves towards me dies on its ass. Give me a north westerly instead.

The low just keeps on moving south. Unlikely but another adjustment then we ar in the game . The Hirlam is so close to our region. In fact looking again it's does enter our region for a brief period . Very similar to the BBC caption above.

A load of really heavy showers in the Irish sea. BBC earlier showed some quite heavy snow showers over the midlands in the early hours.

Yes the met office seem to have adjusted warnings aswell
