Yep DWW...

Played golf today. Started out at 2.6C , and finished at 14:00 at 3.3C.

Very cold and damp with occasional drizzle.

Since then it has started rising and is now at 4.1C

Not great but a slow improvement.

Checking forecasts for the next 24 hrs now.

Hope for a nice sunny cold day tomorrow.:nonono::cold:

Temperature started dropping and is now at 4.2C having had a maximum of 6.1C overnight.

Could be a nice day.

We haven't done very well here from NWerly airflows over the past 4-5 winters...but we've already been able to stick 2 fingers up to winters 2013/14, 14/15, 15/16 and 16/17 so far this winter, so who knows.

Thick fog looks very likely this evening and overnight.

Met Office warning

Chief Forecaster's assessment

Fog patches are likely to form during the early part of Wednesday evening, becoming more widespread overnight with the visibility falling below 100 metres in places. Fog will thin slowly later on Thursday morning, although some patches may persist into the afternoon in the west of the warning area.

Today was very pleasant in the sunshine.... hit 8.5c.

Tomorrow could feel very different.....With mist and even fog persisting for some of us :cold:

Temp now down at -0.3C with a white frost forming.

Was out at 18:00 taking the grandkids home to Knowle and there was quite a lot of low laying fog and mist forming when the temperature was just above freezing.

Now as clear as a bell  and the dampness appears to have frozen out.

Can also see cloud approaching from the north west,

MIA

I swear it doesn’t seem to be getting any lighter in the mornings, yet it’s definitely getting lighter a little later in the afternoons  ?

I was thinking exactly that on my way to work this morning. Probably just because of the cloud cover though.

Dropped quickly to a minimum of -1.3C at 20:00 last night.

Then dank and cloud moved in. No fog though, as we are getting the cloud from everyone else's fog!.

Still dull this morning  with the temp at 3.9C and a light NE wind.

First snow symbols beginning to snow for next week. Obviously too far off to have confidence in any detail but shows something more wintry may not be far away.

Does anyone who lives in peak district or not have an idea what it will be like in Buxton next week as im thinking of heading up that way for a few days if there is a chance of laying snow that accumulates. Thanks

If it’ll snow anywhere it’ll be there but this is shower dependent, after any initial bands of rain/ snow, so if Buxton catches the showers then yep.....

I think most of west midlands will get snow showers at night next week with coverings but not settling much in day time

Ok thanks will. I might try my luck as I've been up there before and it seemed to be a shower magnet. Just need to find a hotel now

The pavilion gardens in Buxton is lovely in the snow.... there are a few b&bs on the edge of the park....

Next week looks interesting, Especially those with elevation, But certainly not exclusively with such unstable air aloft.
