You know what, I never thought i'd say this in my life but I won't be disappointed if it doesnt snow.

I love snow and always will but the past few days have been challenging and dangerous for me personally as I ride a 125cc motorbike and it does not cope well with snow and ice! I would avoid going out on it in snow and icy conditions but I need to use it for work as I work 20 miles away out in the sticks and public transport links are very poor.

I almost came off my bike 3 times yesterday on the way home from Rugby and the roads around Oundle were ice rinks this morning when I finished my night shift. I'm working there again tonight and leaving at 8am. I don't mind if it snows after 8am just not before

Ooh Andy - time to get a car me thinks! ?

Cost and time of lessons and tests  only costs £90 to take a one day CBT and be on the road the next day with a 125cc. So easy really. Hopefully i'll drive eventually though!

Just a quickie, local BBC forecast has temp to stay at +1C here until around 10pm sort of time, but it is currently at -1.4C and still falling.

Yes the temperatures are lower than forecast and precipitation (heading our way) is earlier than planned. Makes me think that our region could see some wintry showers for atleast an hour or two in the early hours before turning to rain. Birmingham northwards anyway.... anyone thinking the same?

The Amber warning is for the East Midlands (I was expecting lots of posts from there, but it's quieter than I expected :) ) but it would be nice if we get more, although the forecasts seem vague, generally.

I've been stuck indoors since the 22nd with two lurgies in a row but am finally feeling well enough to venture out tomorrow so would REALLY love a spot of snow to tempt me out!

Snow stayed on ground all day today, frost now, but mild mush from later tonight, and staying for foreseeable future, just hope we can get as many dry hours as possible

@MIA.... I think so but not for long as the warmer section will be above us not long after it starts as Dew point temps are forecasted to be around -2 to -3 at 3am but will rise very quickly so by 6am +3c :unsure2:

The concluded part of the front is further north.....Jammy sods :p

-3.2 here dew points really cold. Might get some of the white stuff before rain.

The beeb has our low as 0.c pretty off with that one.

-2.4C here in Burbage.  What snow/ice left over has frozen over again, slippy! Expect it goes after tomorrow. On the lookout for the next bout.:santa-emoji:

Just got back from my friends house in Rubery (south Brum) and a little to my surprise they've actually got a decent layer of full snow cover round those parts. Obviously it's what fell Boxing Day evening and the early hours of yesterday when round here we got rain and sleet with snow that didn't settle. Glad I got to see it even if not in this instance in my back yard.

Showing snow for you now?

Still well off for where I am it has changed first rain icon to sleet now this morning but still says temp updated for my location now is 0c...

When my themometer says minus 3.2 it is rising though it was minus 3.7 about 20mins ago

By the time the front pushes in they may well be right.
