:(

To be fair, the models do not forecast it turning to snow here for at least 3 hours. Patience!

Snowing heavily here and settling well. I must say the meto and bbc's performance on this event hasn't been great- quite lax really. The precipitation is now pivoting so expecting another few hours of this at least. Speaking to people- they simply didn't know it was going to snow tonight.

Yep was just about to post the same.

As soon as the DP dropped to 0.0C it immediately covered the laws, cars, bins, .ground, etc.

Have no fears about it being too wet to settle.

It is so heavy now that visibility is being restricted,

Temperature 0.9C and DP -0.01C

An interesting 2 or 3 hours watching the transition. Now how long is this expected to continue for?

Sleet here at the moment - but if the forecast is correct, should turn to snow soon. Radar showing just rain which is not consistent with what I can see out of the window.

Midlandsiceage from Solihull says it's snow there - very small margins in terms of altitude probably matters a lot in this marginal situation. Or its just about to get here.

I think you got lucky with the dewpoint ! Should be 1 to 2c for your area.

Leicester doesnt get to the 0 or 1c dewpoint til well after midnight, 20 miles west of here and the dewpoint is 2 degrees lower :( just slightly bad positioning. Ohwell. I will stay up to watch anyway :)

Good luck to those who want to see some snow to make a festive scene, once again the region looks very well placed.. Anywhere with a little bit of height could see a decent cover that will linger through tomorrow, so kids will be happy. Will depend on how heavy the precipitation is.

We won't see any snow, but hoping to see some nice frosty white scenes instead.
