Read this on the Daily Star earlier... (Yes I know, not credible at all. I was reading another article and clicked on this one:laugh:)

"Up to four inches of snow is expected to smother the country today on a morning forecasters have dubbed “white Thursday”.

It comes after Storm Caroline brought the UK to a standstill over the weekend – with heavy snow and icy conditions causing traffic chaos."

White Thursday :rofl: can't wait for this 4 inches of snow to smother us today

All last nights snow has gone here. Now there are just a few patches of Sunday's snow left. There's parts of the canal bank near here which still has a good fresh looking cover in parts though for some reason. Great to have had so much snow so early in the Winter though. Not many, even some of the best ones haven't had this much snow locally, this early in the season as this one, so a very good start to Winter 2017/18.

Still feels pretty raw outside though.

Judging by the musings on the MOD thread we could be in for something even better.

Heavyish wet snow....large flakes.... still have 3-4 inches from the six inches that fell last night... very slushy where it’s absorbed the rain from this morning.....

Too far ahead though, happens every year, chance of SSW, or cold, rarely happens, GFS been flirting with beast from the east, around Xmas on last few runs

The Midlands doesn’t deserve any more snow for the rest of the winter, it’s quite ridiculous hoarding it all. :diablo::diablo:

Still belong to a camp that has not seen more than an inch in almost 5 years. :cray:

Been pouring with sleety rain. The last patches of snow and ice hanging on for dear life. Amazing how some of the pavements are still covered.

Arou d 40% snow cover here remaining. Further possible snow showers pushing into the North Midlands just now.

Evening folks. Almost all snow now gone with the help of some rain today, just a few patches of ice/slush left -both very slippy!

Walked to work today and some pavements were just like a sheet of ice, glad to see the back of that!

Ay, was great after yesterdays snow, wasn't slippy on snow, but thaws tend to mean  it's slippier

I doubt those showers will fall as snow later, but any surprises will be a bonus. Also don't mind if we get rain as we have had more snow than the past 4 winters combined :D.

5 - 10% snow cover remaining.

Want it dry though, hope next week is dry! as it's going to be balmy, normal December weather, except for the rain
