It's just been sleety rain in Hinckley  no snow like everyone else :( I swear Hinckley has some kinda snow shield even Sundays event we got less snow that most areas only 5-10 miles away #wantsomemoresnow

Leicestershire is usually crap for snow. Lived there for 23 years and only ever saw a few decent events in that time. Birmingham, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire always seemed to do much better.

Rained for about 1.5 hours here, finally turned to snow right on the tail end, and I missed it ! surprised to look at the window after it stopped to see everything was white. Considering how much rain there had been, the snow must've been quite heavy to settle at all.

Fantastic bonus snowfall here! A good 2 inches in a about 45 mins, wasn't expecting that! Just shows you it's sometimes best to just look out of the window than staring at endless weather forecasts! A great start to the winter:)

Loughborough got 2 inches? That'll be a kick in the teeth for the guys from Hinckley :nonono:

Got like, a half centimeter here... radar showed snow for a good amount of time, but it was just rain. Obviously v. marginal.

Well, what a little event that was! unexpected in a way, started off as rain, then the heaviest snow yet this season, around 5cms thick wet snow!

wish I'd been on here enjoying it!

Midlands once again getting snow, you've had a great start to the winter snow-wise, west and north west midlands especially, right place right time.. BBC forecast very poor this evening, saying snow only on highest ground and no weather warning.

reminds me of the event, and only snow of the 2013-2014 winter,  11 Feb off a W'ly, think bbc/models underestimated this one, and yes, NW Midlands placed quite well so far

Didnt pay any attention to today because BBC had me down for heavy rain. Just found out there is a dusting of snow outside. Last time I listen to BBC...

Windy clear and cold and penetrating freezing at 0.9c,more showers on their way much more scattered after the heavy showery snow which I did expect.

yes, very useful if we get the winter we all want but has a down side if the big pond takes control and delivers high winds

Just sleet in my area of Belper with a slight slushy covering but a short drive to the south and it was really coming down with big thick flakes, much heavier than anything I saw over the weekend just gone. I would estimate a couple of cm's just north of Derby (Allestree/Kedleston)

What an unexpected event that was. Main roads slush and ice. I don't think they were expecting snow here in Stafford if it fell during rush hour the result would of been gridlock. Don't expect much snow to survive the night. Drip drip drip
