I had a bit of thaw off trees exposed to the bright sun, amazing looking sky though

I'm not  sure there will be any -12C tonight.

More like -8C.

Shefali on BBC Midlands claims it will be -14C. I don't know what she has been smoking?

not sure about bins? could be 23rd, when they are next due

They were parked up across from school earlier but not sure if they were brown or blue collection.  They will have to work a Saturday I guess.

You guys :D the forecast for these -10 to -12's are right out in the deep sticks in the very cold snow fields

Even when back in 2010 Pershore recorded -16 17s I believe ? the surrounding area of Brum only touch -9 or -10s

I'll be happy with -5 tonight

Anyway leave it to the experts......I'm sure somewhere will hit double digits :santa-emoji:

Not sure why it gives -12 for my specific postcode. Maybe over the nearby fields. I reckon -6 to -8 here.

-2°C here now.

The side roads are all turning to ice rinks where people have used their own salt to melt the snow which has now frozen over.

Snowy...

All the areas in the central Midlands who were expected to have very low temps are now expecting cloud (according to your map). Most of the mins are about -5C now. Who produced this fore-cast?.

I guess it is correct as it now has gone very 'hazy' here.

My temperature is currently -3.9C, here in a fairly central Solihull next to some 'open' land.

certainly cold air coming in Wed evening, thicknesses for a time support snow, but unfavourable wind direction, especially for north of the region, those Welsh mountains in the way

This happened earlier: that's our car, with a white van which had been trying to turn round and get out of our big shared car-park for over an hour.

PILLOCK.

Took 8 or 9 of us pickaxing and shovelling the inches-thick compacted polished ice he'd created, not to mention manually shoving him uphill sideways because the entire car park is on a slope so when he tried to drive forwards, he just slid to the right downhill (and onto our car more than once - amazingly, no damage, thanks to over a foot of snow...)

WHY CAN'T PEOPLE LEARN TO DRIVE ON SNOW???? Or just not go off the gritted main roads?

This is the front of our car. He had literally only moved the snow off the front of it. You can see the depth where it's broken away vertically at left of picture. Lucky us, eh?
