It's been constant snow for well over 12 hours now, and mrs. dusk's weather app is forecasting it not to stop until 23:00.

Do any of the short range high resolution models bring Storm Ana as far north as the Mids?

That was a bit less fun... just had an hour-long power cut. Western Power Distribution said there were over 3,000 people off at its peak, so they've done a pretty good job. Definitely turning the heating up a bit now though, in case it happens again tonight!

Been snowing for hours. After stopping earlier in the afternoon. Met Office have me down for snow until 5 am (heavy around 1 am). It’s actually added a few cm and could add a few more if it keeps on for that long. Might get semi-deep snow after all!

After all that moaning  did I or did I not tell you that stoke would do alright from this?

Where is this snow for the Midlands supposed to be coming from for later on? It's all dying out. Naff all left really.

We haven’t yet! I mean, most winters I would have killed for 5 cm of snow. It’s just the fact I looked to be on for so much more and many have got so much more that is frustrating.

Looking at the last few frames of the Netweather radar, the snow seems to have beefed up a bit over parts of the West Midlands!

Edit: @Aaki Khanbeat me to it!

How have you done today mate?

10cm in places, good event for this location, as it's lower than areas around, like Cannock, Telford

The Welsh thread have the answer...

Apparently we have a waved occlusion from E to W across the midlands, a leftover from todays low.

It has been detected that It is intensifying south west of Ireland and is expected to cross Wales this evening and move across us overnight.  Basically it seems to be a deepening wave depression, that has yet another wave on it.

I'll post the charts they found after posting this.

Light snow still, which since dark has meant it has really topped up the cover we have. 3 inches on top of the wheelie bin, not bad really. Some paths its struggled to settle deep on but trees/bushes and grass are doing well. Roads are generally clear other than side ones,
