A couple of very cold nights to come across the Midlands, will probably be minus double figures fairly widely over the snowfields.

BBC weather spot earlier saying West Midlands will have heavier falls.

Lovely big flakes from this (radar)

Now they are saying -12 in the snow fields at night. :cold:

DWW...

Just come back from visiting in hospital in the car.

About 8inches (20cms) around here on  the roads and my lawn.

Car got stuck twice and had to be pushed on the side roads,  due to bottoming. I must say I had not realised we had quite that much, so I guess that even the lighter stuff was accumulating..

Main roads have been salted and are now very slushy..

As you say it looks very picturesque with the huge floaty flakes that have just started to fall again.

Temp just above freezing at +0.2C, but likely to start freezing again soon.

West Midlands Passenger bus services have stopped for the day.

Many youngsters are out sledging, and I wanted to go to Elmdon Park, but the car park was full!

Its the first time many have seen a decent snowfall.

Just been out to measure  - a clear ten inches/ c.25cm on the roof of the car which is level and not drifted!

And they're still trying to get that car out. They've got it to the entrance now, currently at ninety degrees to where it was going and wants to go, it's steeply uphill all the way now...  if you want to be rich, you should move into Clutch Replacement. Going by how every single driver we've seen since Friday morning has tried (failed) to deal with snow, there's gonna be on helluva lot of cars being booked in for work!

Yes, few flurries in the air just now but I can't see any potential for heavy snow this afternoon. Just think if the model were 50 miles north...

So lovely seeing all my friends and family in London with more snow than here. So glad they finally get snow, after I’ve moved away :wallbash:

I'd suggest you nip over to Telford to enjoy our snow, only half the roads are closed and all the buses and trains are stopped, so, er...

It’s me. I could move to Toronto, and Jamaica would get more snow than them.

Feel for those in North Staffs. Places like Cannock have done quite well by all accounts. Us in deep south staffs have done very well. 8 Inches of snow in the fields now and snowing nicely near Wolverhampton.
