Thought I just heard thunder and got excited (never had snow thunder). But it was just my dad opening his drawer in the bedroom. :(

Coming down thick and fast now boys (and girls ;):yahoo::yahoo: and it's going to stay like this for the next 3 or 4 hours :D:D I think we well end up with more than 10cm.

its nowhere near 1990 yet. I was 9 and remember it well. I remember buses being left on the road side as they couldn't get up hills, the A45 near my house was at a standstill and at least 30/40 cm of snow, more where it drifted against front doors. I'm in Coventry, and if this keeps going for another 4/5 hours then we could be in for something similar, needs to pick up the rate tho :D Hope it gets close!

Lutterworth :) still smallish flakes but pretty heavy.

It's just SUPER NICE that it's not marginal for once. No sleet, no rain, and no dripping sounds. Pure dry snow :D

Proper whiteout in Worcester right now. As Chris Kamara says ‘UNBELIEVABLE JEFF’!!!!!!!!

Hahahah, love Chris :D

Only got a covering from those. Had quite a few showers yesterday but most missed here on Friday.

View from my dad's house in Harrow. Can't make this stuff up!

Sod's law! I'm a bit like you mate, over in Newcastle Under Lyme and under whelmed.

When I first saw the reports for Friday/Saturday/Sunday it looked epic but every report has been significantly over egged

i was hoping deep enough get the snowboard out on the local steep road ?

Still some one good stuff mind just not as heavy as originally forecast

If that stuff in the SE manages to turn to snow, they are going to get absolutely pasted...

Just popped in from the SE thread and the heavy rain from this morning has now turned to heavy snow, covering the soaking wet ground readily.

Much to my suprise may i add, as I'm at sea level in Essex.

Absolutely brilliant this. Best since March 2013. Can see it coming down properly now we've got daylight aswell. Good deep cover aswell and blowing in the wind. Don't think I've got a ruler or anything to measure depths though unfortunatley. Will have to ask my Mum when she's up whether she has one.

I was going to make a joke about how you will settle for 5 inches but I won't  (Or maybe I just did? )

Mods... Please don't hurt me :D

Anyway, yes, Northamptonshire has done very well from this so far and this is only the beginning really! This is supposed to be sticking around for another 6 hours or longer! :shok:

Yes interesting thing with that is they havn't reduced the northern extent much, only ever so slightly. Still amber for north midlands. They must be expecting this ppn to go a fair bit north ?
