Good ol Kettering. I worked at Wicksteed Park during the Summer down in the lake area driving that big ferry boat :D I bet wicky's is going to look beautiful covered in snow this morning. Take some pics if you're near there!

That sounds like a great job :)

I may go there later. I'm on the south side of the park. About a mile walk, and the little entrance by the old water slide is the first one I get to. Just hope the heavier stuff makes it this far!

Not sure why I picked up your post Andy?

Just checked round other areas.

It seems to be snow from just north of Oxford north.

People south of there say they are expecting it to turn to snow later.

Knocker is getting rain and 45 mph winds so he is happy as well.:D

He has just posted charts from the o/n GFS 00 and it is for snow all day here.:yahoo::cold-emoji:

Looks like a real pasting is going to happen!

 MIA

Edit -larger flakes here now. Temp up to -0.4C

Anyone seen the euro4 or should i not ask and just enjoy this snowy moment lol!!

Why? Not bad news is it?  if so, I don't wanna know. Let me live in ignorance!!

The Precip type radar on Netweather shows fairly accurately where the snow is falling at the moment. I'm glad I don't live in Oxford anymore, i'd be tearing my hair out! Look at how close they are to the snow line...

I'd have probably gone loopy if i'd missed out on heavy snow by about 5-10 miles

Already got a few cm here by looks of things and coming down hard, so should be good for at least 10cms, maybe more depending on how well it holds together during the day and how far north the whole lot gets.

Interestingly after today, Mon and Tues both look set to be ice days (not had any of those since Jan 13), while the mildest day next week is Wednesday at 5c. So looks like staying cold for the foreseeable.

Euro4 unchanged from last night really, maybe marginally further north. I would definitely have benefited from a 20-30 mile northward shift but hey ho.

Light snow just approaching. I may still squeeze out 5cm.

Woke at 4 this morning... not sure why as I love my bed. Perhaps I love snow more! Quite heavy here now with around an inch, radar shows heavier stuff on the way, just waxing the sledges ready for when the kids get up! Bring it on and enjoy fellow midlanders! :cold::yahoo:

When you look at the snow map from 2010 there was a 10 mile wide strip by about 10 mile long area without any snow. There's a member on here from my neighbouring town of bedworth who I'm sure remembers it lol. This could be the first really big snow fall here for a long time.
