Met office chief forecaster: there is increasing certainty in the track and location of the heaviest snow. Nottingham is right in the middle of that amber warning lattitude-wise so hopefully any minor corrections shouldn't change too much.

With most of the west mids in the amber warning how much snowfall could fall for those places in the amber warning?

Probably around 10 to 15cm, maybe locally up to 20 to 30cm in some odd spots, especially over the hills!

I think that's it here locally now today in terms of snow, just wait until Sunday now and see what falls out of the sky.

A complete let down in Stoke. Showers passing to our south west. May still catch a few later though, and tomorrow the stream of showers may move over us.

What do you guys think about burton upon trent for tomorrow?

After last nights let down worried about sunday being abit of a non event or poor slush.

Just hope the models don't push the low too far north or keep it south.

Don't want to end up on the edge of that snow line as happened before.

Well after last years let down I said I would never be back on here........but I’m additcted to snow and the Midlands forum :) so I’m back :)

I was so sure that us in NW Leics would get an inch last night I even cancelled going to my Xmas do in London...but once again a let down :( however I am willing to sacrifice last nights snow for the hope of what is to come on Sunday. If that doesn’t come off....that is it I’m done with the Midlands Forum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ( well until the models show another juicy set up :):) )

i think NW Leics should do well on Sunday? But I would welcome an expert view/thoughts

This Sunday event had better happen now, I’ve used my free hit on fantasy football to remove all players from Sunday’s north west derby games in the faint hope of clawing back some points on everyone else when they get called off ?

This is mental in Shrewsbury, constant pretty much all day. Roads gridlocked, schools closing. Trip to London abandoned for the moment.

Still snowing here, albeit the flakes are small. 6cm on cars and about 4cm on pavements. Much less on the road where it's wetter.

Pretty pleased, really! Reaching 5cm in Bewdley is not a common occurrence -- this is the first time since March 2013.

Really hoping those of you who missed out today will join the fun on Sunday!

That's either great or very bad for you.

Glad you got some of the white stuff.
