Ice pellets. Normally get them just before precipitation becomes all snow. Must be getting close to the right conditions!

Air temp of 3.7'C and dew point at exactly 0.

Just emailed metoffice  pretty standard response  she said 5cm widely low ground. 10 cm higher ground. Some spots more exposed to Cheshire gap 15-20 cm  although she also added it's a fluid situation  to watch warnings

I'm more exposed to Cheshire Gap, but lower ground

So is Shrewsbury expected to do good out of all this. We normally miss out on all the exciting weather.

You will be bone dry..

only joking you should do as well as anywhere else in the west mids id day, although elevation will be thicker I think

All is crossed that Telford actually get some for a change

Reckon we will! I think, going by virtually all the models for some days now, even the low-lying bits of Telford should get some snow... it's a bit alarming what they reckon the higher ground might get...!

We're 150m asl, but only a ten minute walk from 200m asl, so we should be able to play in some tomorrow!

and loggerheads, just out of MD has extra elevation... so might be pasted

Well, that would suit the MOD thread - they're all always at Loggerheads! :D

Looking at the radar the showers will be moving thought pretty rapidly. So going to need a train of showers to have some decent accumulations

Dew point falling through the floor, -0.6'C.

Air temp stubborn at 3.8'C.

I would still be amazed if Staffordshire doesn't do very well from this. Always get hit by a Cheshire Gap streamer in a NW to WNW flow.

Anybody else in here from Notts / Derbys??

Yes i’m just 7 miles north of Derby. We had a few sleet showers here around 6.30 but has been dry since. The showers seem pretty well scattered atm so not sure we will see much of a covering here,if any at all.

SW Nottingham here, might be too far East for most of the showers tonight and tomorrow.

Burton upon trent. Here I have been browsing the Mod thread religiously for last few weeks I can't believe these models are actually coming off.

Anyways we usually miss the good stuff here hoping that's not the case this weekend.

I will not hold my breath and take a pesimistic veiw. Then I can be supprised haha.

First post long time lurker thought I'd be better off posting in here than the strict Mod thread.

Used to live in oxfordshire missed it all then too.

Looks like me might have an actual winter on our hands instead of an extended mild rainy autumn til March.
