Im in harborne mate. Not too far! Quite an exciting spell for our neck of the woods eh. We're helped by our area having decent altitude.

Me too, teeny bit lower down on the Harborne/Edgbaston border. Fingers crossed, we've an interesting weekend in store!

Ah im closer to the hagley road on the other side from warley woods. That extra 10-15 metres in height could make a difference haha

From my (untrained) eye, it would appear we may be slightly too far east, wins looking slightly more Northerly, what do you think, Mark?

No chance am i getting emotionally involved in the output for Sunday just yet, been burnt way too many times that i am able to ignore it for the time being, we know all too well that could be shifted to the South coast by Saturday evening, or up to the Borders.

I think that I am pretty much in the sweet spot, just north of Walsall , in Bloxwich , 160m. Historically we have often had snow , even when places close by have had rain . Noticeable drop in temperature in the last hour or so .

My head tells me that I'll be just that 100m too low and that it'll be sleety rain except in the heavier bursts.

My heart tells me to dig out the gloves, woolly hat, fleece, wellies, sledge, shovels...

Which do I go with? I've been burnt so many times before?

Ah, who am I kidding? I know full well I'm going to go with my heart! :cold: At least if (when) it proves to be a let-down here in Worcestershire, I can see the Clent Hills from my bedroom window so I might at least have some snow to look at!

Saturday looks our best day, Staffordshire, tomorrow we look being too far east for a dumping, but maybe not for a covering, but ground very wet

Is this the trough getting its act together ready to pay us a visit tonight?

Further downgrade on BBC website! Now not even forecast snow at any point during tonight, just sleet. The good news is BBC is saying it should be 5C at 7pm, it is currently 3C.

Well, we have sleet here now in Bedworth. Temps 5.7'c dew point  0.7'c , so it looks pretty ok to me.

Ignore the BBC

Also already getting sleet here (7 hours earlier than when BBC says things will turn wintry).

Bloxwich is great for snow

highest point is about 570ft in Victoria avenue ,

now live in lowland pelsall at 500ft ?

I still see people talking about it being too marginal. With uppers between -8 and -10 tomorrow, everything that falls at any level will be snow.

Some snapshots from the latest national BBC forecast.

Just had our first snow shower, didn’t last long though and was a little wet although did leave a very thin layer of slush on cars

Can agree, I am a 10 minute walk away from Bloxwich too, and I remember In 2013 where I was there was a covering of snow but got noticeable deeper as I got into Bloxwich.

Colder dew points starting to push in now. Much of East Wales and Northwest England at 0C.

talk of marginality is nonsense. From later tonight until Sunday, anything that falls will be snow. The air coming is very cold. Even the BBC are not saying sleet and snow showers in their text forecasts but are saying 'snow showers'

Dew point just dipped below zero for 30 minutes, now back up to 0.2'c , temps 4.8'c and falling at 0.2'c every half hour. Had a sleet shower already, it all does seem earlier than forecast
