I love the dark grey radar background because the contract between the background and the PPN looks great! But is there anyway for place names/roads etc.. to be overlaid onto it instead it it just being completely blank?

Feel like that'd add a lot more to that setting.

As far as I understand it, Dan, it's part of Openstreetmap's dark tile theme, so it would be down to them to add something like that i'm afraid.

It's not part of openstreetmaps, but yes it is a 3rd party map , so not something we can control unfortunately. There may be options around it though, so I'll look into those.
