Probably a little below average overall. I believe the first half of December is just a taster of the second half of winter but that we will probably see a more average/mild period though mid-Dec to mid-Jan.

4.6C.

...

When was our last ice day in CET terms?

2.9 C and 40.5 mm (only)

(note -- I may be completely off the internet from about 30 Nov to 5 Dec, moving house and it's not well-timed for my contest duties, will try to get some parts of my tables onto the site if I can ... but will catch up in December anyway).

J10, more about this mysterious new contest in post #1, no changes proposed for the long-running temp contest, just a new precip contest and I can handle the scoring on that one.

I'll revise my guess down to 3.4C, please...it looks like that first half of the month will be so cold that it'll need a minor miracle for 4C to be exceeded..?

I hope so, anyway!:D

Lets go 3.7 degrees, cold first half, possible milder spell thereafter, but how long who knows. Slight chance a notably cold December could occur. Can't see a mild one. It could be similiar to 2008 and 2012.. but hoping more akin to 2008 which turned colder again just after christmas.
