Are they from weather.us or something similar? I have seen these posted numerous times and they are way OTT.

Methinks the amber zone northern extent needs to be adjusted south and southern extent further south. Also I think Greater London should go yellow at least north London.

Can someone please bulldoze the sodding M4. I'll take a punt and say London/North Kent will see snow on the leading edge before it turns back to rain. Southern extent of accumulations of course being the M4

The problem is that the Met Office have an annoying habit of issuing warnings at 11am and never updating them, regardless of model changes.

I remember being at Chessington zoo in a blizzard of snow (not joking) in early June in about 1974. There was a massive snowstorm which just sprang out of nowhere.Only time in 50 years I have ever seen snow in June.

Going to be interesting to see how this pans out tomorrow, loving these slight adjustments southwards. Only 24 hours ago over here in Ipswich we were due cold rain now with those lower DP's and a slight shift of the low and we are right in the game and there's not much further to go and the Kent crew are in it too!

I have the works Christmas drinks tonight so I'll be stumbling home drunk to look at the 18z charts and catchup on this thread - I really wish I had booked tomorrow off work, being hungover and wanting to potentially see snow whilst working isn't going to be the best of mixes.

I think you're right as there was an infamous cricket match postponement that summer due to snow.

1975 Derbyshire v Lancs at Buxton  ( Clive Lloyd got a ton in the first innings )

Now I'm in my later years and far from nimble I have to admit I'm not as keen on snow as I used to be.

Even so it's a bit disappointing to have such low temperatures ( Tmax today here was 3.5c ) and see a forecast for nothing more than strong winds and heavy rain in the next 24-48 hours for this region.

I’m hoping that North West Kent gets to see a few flakes, similar to last week. There would need to be a massive push south of the low for us to see snow settling.

That's the one!  Five years before I was born, but I read about it somewhere.  Supposedly the spin bowlers were miserable as their hands were so cold that they couldn't spin the ball properly.

Thanks, i was a year out.I remember we were dressed in summery clothes as it had been quite warm in the morning beforehand, and suddenly it turned icy, drizzly rain first, and then there was a whiteout, and I just remember a woman screaming about a baby getting cold. I don't even think I was wearing a cardigan. It really made an impression on me as a young child.
