Nice! Is any of the band turning to snow across South-West England as per model based radar shows?

I've been popping into sw thread, not noticed any reports of snow yet. But it's only just reached the tip really.

Would not think that will mattter Steve if you get that intense Red Blob over your head, will drag the freezing level down quite nicely

The blustery winds will be a problem with that regard, in order to get evap cooling and such like you ideally need calm conditions. Not saying it won't happen but it will be a bit of a struggle, a bit too much mixing perhaps.

Interestingly regarding the Hirlam, the symbols on my BBC weather app match to the hour what the Hirlam is showing?  Perhaps this is used by the Beeb? Just a thought.

Yes

mind you maybe ( I havent looked ) the high res models are placing us in the EC zone with the system overhead as the track is now swinging further South...

I'm pretty sure they mainly use Met Office model data.

Lol

Then there is no point having the intense precip over us then, might as well be light and patchy and move onto the Easterlies in January.........................Next

Although as Steve says if the Low exits Kent/sussex border then we could be in the middle or just north of the low in light winds

As hilarious as it seems, there is part of me starting to think that my location could see no precipitation at all and it just ends up dry, cloudy with a biting ene wind as the snow goes south of my location. To think yesterday morning most models had my location down as no snow but because it was going to rain instead.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
