The Meto extended also doesn't sound as cold/blocked as it said a couple of days ago either?! The one thing that kept me going through this "arctic farce" was thinking we may have further chances down the line but not looking as probable now?!x

Fear not, the “extended, extended” sounds more intriguing, with blocking looking to become established again late Dec/early Jan.

Ties in nicely with the mighty Murr, GP and Tamara’s thoughts!

I would have bet anything first thing this morning that we would have had a snow shower sometime today, But it was a beautiful sunny day lol! All eyes on sunday then...

Looks like we’re out of luck tomorrow unless there is a last minute big move in store for this pocket of warmer air which is looking to give us rain rather than snow! I continue to hope, I think this will still probably change up to the last minute on Sunday but I think we’ll be out of luck.

Monday looks similar. 6 degrees forecast for me in Southend. What is it about Monday’s chances that I’m missing? Or is it a case of deal with Sunday first and then look at Monday later?

Either way, this setup is never good for this of us in the south east. Need to pray to the weather Gods that the signal for rising heights to our NE after Christmas verify. We really need to get those Easterlies in.

Agreed, I find that anything other than an Easterly (or maybe a North Easterly) is pretty much a waste of time for snow hopes over here.

Farctic.

I've lost confidence we'll see any snow in the next 72 hours. *launches  toys from the perambulator*.

Hoping the Huntingdon umbrella fails this weekend and we finally get some snow.

You know I always hope in these situations that the forecasts are wrong and we will get heavy snow instead of rain, but they are never that wrong except when snow is forecast and then it doesn't happen obviously.

My local forecast on the met office site has increased the maximum temps from 3 to 6 degrees on Sunday now since yesterday. Why does it never seem to go the other way?

Haha you gotta laugh.

Everything has shifted so far north on Sunday, that it doesn't actually look that wet anymore and temps up to 8c.

Mondays low also starting to shift north....here we go again....
