I have to drive both this evening and before sunrise tomorrow, having only passed my test this summer. But still. Bring. It. On! :D

Just a couple of light flurries so far, a really cold feeling day with a high of just 3C. It is clouding over quite a bit, oddly it doesn't feel like we are going to see some active and frequent showers with a lot of low cloud floating around.

To illustrate my point, here is the UKV for 07:00 tomorrow morning, really the peak of shower activity for the SE...

And the corresponding dew points, sadly on the wrong side of marginal...

You show this but all those rash of showers up north are coming S considerably before that and pose greater interest than that snap you provided..

You'll get one or two drifting through, sure. Not a great deal though.

If you're happy with a snow flurry then you're likely to be pleased tonight, if you want settling snow then almost certainly not. Depends on what you're looking for!

I think you’re going to be wrong here, the beeb has these showers of a quite widespread nature later this evening.

There'll be a lot of unhappy London councils based on what we're going for then :D

No models have frequent/widespread showers this evening, none of the UKMO models either.

With all due respect Daniel, I’ll trust the netweather forcaster here

I don't work for Netweather (Just a moderator) but thanks haha. Not saying I'm going to be right, Daniel may well be right, but if the BBC are saying widespread snow showers over the London area tonight then I'm at a loss as to where they're getting that from. I'm just going by what the models are showing and discussions with my superior this morning. As we saw last night though, things can go off-plan...

I am a tad shocked we are all getting so caught up on 'what the models say' when most of us have had snowfall today that was on 0 models...

Well I don’t overly care! Proof is in the pudding especially when it’s staring in your face look at the radar. No way to the extent did the models forecast the heavy snows some have seen in NE England for instance.

They did. Looks pretty bang on to me. Even has the Pembrokeshire dangler!

+10hrs need I say more? Well, I’ve seen similar set ups to what we’ve seen now and thus that’s where I’m going from I expect for folk to be surprised.

+10hrs is the supposed London widespread snow showers, what's your point?

If you want to go on blind faith then by all means do so, as a professional I'll stick with what's shown on the models.

It's getting colder in Thurrock, the temperature now is 2.4 °C and with the wind chill makes it feel more like -0.9 °C .  The apparent temperature is -3.0 °C and the -2.9 °C .  The wind speed and direction is 7.4mph NNW.  I am more likely to wake up to a frosty morning than a snowy one.

Scattered sleet showers, moderate WNW (still no sign of it veering NE) and 1C...

I can extrapolate further on these showers will work their way south. Not blind faith.

The latest 5CM over parts of the North Downs.

Methinks the yellow snow warning needs to cover London and the Home Counties.
