NickGot to say, the southward extent of this is astonishing. I was hesitant to even include London in accumulating snow, let alone central London!

Yes Nick , after London successfully hosted the 2012, Summer Olympics, how about London get's a shot at the Winter Olympics, too. Lol

Best wishes,

Tom.

The fact remains, the snowline is nearly 100 miles further south and east than the MetO were expecting.

Spot on WIB.

Pleased with my snowfall so far. Pic taken from my front door.

Anyone know if it’s snowing around Heathrow? Only I’m headed there for work from home soon, here in south London we had some settling snow earlier, but since 8.30 it’s been sleet/rain turning the dusting we had to slush.

Yes snowing @heathrow...

was anyway...

Quietly optimistic about tomorrow's French Low affecting the east coast of Kent. Wondering what are my chances of seeing any snow from this, as it pulls down an easterly/northerly from North sea as it passes?

Raining in Heathrow now, 0.5cm quickly evaporating..

It's going to be light/moderate snow for much of the day now. Probably won't add a great deal to existing totals but it will at least prevent significant thawing.

I'm going to cook some breakfast and then consider my options as to how to get to the pub...

Good Lad - Priorities

Really impressive - looks like lots of folk have done much better than expected.

Just a slushy deposit here in SW London but more northern parts of London have done pretty well too!

howdy all,

I just drove down from a snowy central London at +0.5c to a green Crawley at +6c...

Never done that before...

Aside from the snow, gusts are now higher along the South coast than any of the 'named' storms.

Gusts higher than predicted between 70mph and 80mph.

Still snowing here but easing off a bit. Reckon there is about 6cms coving everything so far. Temp now 0c down  from 1.9 at 645 - the weather station has revived itself. I have been out and built a modest snowman with my 5 year old daughter. So we a both happy Its the most snow she's seen. It's great snow for snowballs and snowmen!

low just about to pass to the south of me.. PPN moving back south shortly with better chances of snow for people further south

I’m waiting for that pivot and the back edge snow, though not sure it’ll be for very long.
