I'm a bit late to the party, as ever, good morning snow punters. Sleet here and slush has settled, how christmassy :)))

Really heavy here now, absolutely wonderful after all the rain earlier!

Proof that with soaking wet ground you can still get settling snow!

First pic taken at 08:12 vs just now 1hr 10 mins later.

Absolutely chucking it down with rain if only? Would had at least 7cm snow so annoying as at 5am temp was -3.3 now +3.0

Must have mis-estimated at Watford - depth more like 7 cm now - temp +0.5.  The solar panels not working too well today!

Heavy snow here in Peterborough, drifting in the stiff breeze off the Fens.

Looks like a couple of inches settled.

Still snowing....in Cambs

For once in many years we have got lucky in normally wet slushy Cambridgeshire.

Temp/dew at nearest weather station is 0.4c/-0.2c, I love marginal when I'm the right side of it!

The snow line is much further south than predicted unless i missed a late forecast . Steve Murr seems to know his stuff and indicated a southerly correction . Well done Steve . Hope your getting some of the white stuff

I have a feeling this could fall all as snow here in SE Essex.

Temp -1c and Dewpoint -2c - Nothing marginal about it here

Just picked up daughter from sleepover and its awful on the roads, it looks like a winter wonderland though

Even after the rain, theres still a nice dusting on the rooftops so still cold out there. Looks to be a drier period coming in now. Hopefully they'll be some precip left as the cold air filters south for later.

I need to do a 1 hour anti clockwise m25 Motorway run from Surrey to Blackheath SE London around 4pm today...am I likely to get stuck, or will it all be rain then?

Have a look at the traffic cams before you head out but personally, I'd leave it. Temps will drop later causing ice no matter what we get today.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
