Back to snow here, getting heavy again. Temperature dropping and the wind turning more NE'ly. 1C currently.

I went to bed with rain pelting the window. I  woke up a few minutes ago and heard no rain,, so i looked out the window- and to my great surprise, it's not only snowing, but there is a good dusting of snow!! Wow!!

Finally I'm not complaining. The kind of snow fall you wish to wake up to here in South Woodham.

Our area of Essex in Thurrock gets overlooked in weather reports.  It is snowing and it has been snowing for a while.

I think those South of London are relying on evaporative cooling, as soon as the light stuff came over it turned back to rain.

They'll be waiting a while. Far too windy for that.

Doesn't seem to be a breath of wind here.

Had a bit of a disturbed night at Watford - snow started about 0200 but was very slight - at 0600 it was still snowing but very wet and depth not exceeding 1cm - checked the radar and saw that we were on the cusp between snow and rain.

Went back to bed expecting that the snow would turn to rain but lo and behold still snowing quite heavily, depth about 2 to 3cm, temp hovering between +0.4 and + 0.5.

Obviously caught the local council on the hop - they haven't gritted the main A41.

Getting a bit heavier now and as a result, it's turning more to sleet/snow rather than rain/sleet. I'm off to work now (ugh!)

How far do you think the warm sector will make it north. Thanks Nick

Very slushy snow on ground in the City. Precip has gone sleety for now. Got my fingers crossed that MetO is accurate and that I’ll be back to heavy snow later.
