Somehow it remains open. All credit to the snow clearing teams over there, as half of this amount would've closed the runway in previous years.

Substantial delays though.

Indeed, bet it's quite a battle against the snow up there at the moment! Although they'll be struggling if this keep up for the next few hours as forecast..

It could get interesting if this carries on until lunchtime, as currently predicted, coinciding with the stiff breeze that we are forecast to get.....could create some nice landscapes, unless the wind cancells out any evaporative cooling that maybe assisting currently! Certainly going to be interesting seeing how this all unfolds.

And now it’s snow. From rain to sleet to snow in about 10 minutes.

can’t see it settling though.

I couldn't either, given the very wet start, but it is, quite readily now.  Hope it will all white by the time the children wake :-)

It was sleat here at 7.10am and a temp of 1.0. I dropped my son to work at 7.30 and the sleat turned to heavy snow and temp dropped to 0.5. Yeah!

Heavy rain for a couple of hours, then turned quickly to heavy snow.  It's now sticking on all surfaces.  Temp dropped by around 2.5 degrees in less than an hour.  Now around 0.5c.  Plenty more to come looking at the radar, hopefully will get in excess of 5cm out of this. Brilliant stuff.

Fantastic snowing nicely makes it all worth it to think 24 hours ago it was looking all rain. :)

Really pleased for you! My prediction of it not happening for you yesterday evening was complete rubbish!

Bubs' winter wonderland is now complete. Photo doesn't do it justice.

Doesn't feel as cold, but the flakes are now bigger and it's heavy.
