Wind has returned after a short shower that just went through. Think it may have been a small trough.

Even GFS is hinting of big changes as well. For example, from the 5th - 6th January, GFS shows a stormy period dragging very cold uppers in the SE with snow which would give a blizzard conditions. Still early days, but promising.

Why is this always forecast for days i have to travel long distances?

Might have been the coldest night of the winter here, not been keeping tabs on it -2.5C at 0145 a hard frost a hour or two later the milder air arrived funny that we tend to see coldest nights at the end.

Looking at the radar, it shows that we should be in the middle of a huge heavy rain section, Went outside to find cold, very clear starry night.

Looks quite pleasant out there today, despite the gusty wind. Very mild at 13C. I’ve come down with a nasty cold so it’s a day or two of shivered slobbing on the sofa.

quite blowly quite mild. mild enough not to be freezing just popping outside in just a tee-shirt so it must be mild.

can't believe bubs is back at school on Wednesday, such a quick feeling Holiday.

Had my christmasy snow, bring on the summer thunder.

Root Beer is disgusting. The stuff you could get in Mac D's was much nicer.

It really is vile.

Wow mine go back on the 8th. I'm really feeling like, what is the point of starting on a Friday. Wednesday sound much better. They finished on the Friday before the last 3 days as well. The school used the last three days as teachers training apparently. May be the first two days are also being used for those, although I've not heard such.

In the week before christmas, bubs was in Monday and half tuesday, so why they couldn't of had 2 clear weeks and a extra day or two I don't know, for what I gather they did bog all work for at least 2 school weeks, and will hardly do any this week coming, but as they keep saying, 'every day counts'

yes the root bear tastes like mouthwash. used to taste like cough sweets. Threw it down the sink.

Any news on the cold front around the 7th ???

It varies from model to model, but it isn’t looking that special at the moment; the uppers won’t be that cold if current modelling it to be believed. Things can, and will, change though. Let’s just hope it’s for the better!
