Snowing decently now, but nothing laying due to pretty much solid 12 hours of rain beforehand.

Like a blizzard out there now. Horizontal snow across the field.

For the second time in a row - The Beeb say rain for South East Essex and yet it is snow falling.

not settling, nor will it, but snow is snow. The BBC seem to have a problem with underestimating snow events, or at least, underestimating how widespread they will be.

Well that was another bust here! We had snow for several hours, but it thawed rapidly. We really need a decent easterly with bitterly cold uppers for long lasting snow.

Been snowing heavily here for the last hour or so. Temp down to 0.8c. Slight slushy covering on grass and cars.

Another slider incoming at T72 on the ECM !!!!

Sadly not steve - it lifts ne with the jet forcing behind - Friday's trough slides from sw Scotland to Norfolk so the north of England should see some snow. Saturday's trough should deliver to the Scottish contingent.

Interesting following the snow reports this morning!! Here in Portsmouth, nothing right on the coast, roofs and cars covered just a couple of miles north and a good inch or two on Portsdown Hill at 50-100m asl. More than I was expecting for sure.

Mixture of rain sleet and Icy snow here. Really looks like proper snow in the heavy bursts but it isn't. Wonder if it is over the hill in land from the coast.

I think our region must be the slush capital of the world. It would be interesting to see where in the world averages the most yearly non settling snowfalls!

Horley (Gatwick) as per usual struggling even for precipitation, let alone snow. Fourth ‘cold rain’ day here this month. If you like snow and you’re looking to move - do not come here.

Not as heavy in canterbury and still rain! Wash out again!

That actually good news as my 17 year is insisting on going Christmas shopping with her money over there today. She' getting a lift from her friends dad. The friend is going too of course. So I haven't got to worry about transport. However if it' snowing between here and Canterbury, a2 runs up high on quite a bit of it. There may be lots of traffic. If that's the case, I hope the dad uses his head and says we are going home.
