mixture of rain and snow on and off here in locksbottom but not settling.as was last case if you have elevation then you may get a covering in higher spots on noth downs like biggin hill, knockholt etc.Waiting for an easterly/North Easterly later in January as Northerlies and North Westerlies just dont work for this part of the world!!

Rain now turned to snow here in St Leonards-on-Sea ( East Sussex ). Highly unlikely to settle on the wet ground I would think.

Sleet has turned to snow, with some nice fat flakes mixed in. Unlikely to settle though.

Almost blizzard like conditions here as the wind is so strong out in the open.

Getting much heavier. Sticking to grass, cars and bins. Nothing on the ground yet but hopeful.

Still chucking it down, looks the A14 is a real mess with jackknifed lorries between the M1/M6 and A1 (Northants and Cambs sections)

Surprised its covering so well after a night of rain, but it is

Blustery heavy snow here now. Looks like one of those where we'll get a bit of transient settling on grass and sheds before a swift melt.

Must say though, these are the largest snowflakes I've seen in a very long time.

Exactly right. They're massive!

I'm sure if you caught one you'd have a reasonable ready-made snowball!

The intensity has eased off now but still coming down

Somewhere between 2-3 inches has fallen here - once again it looks like on the whole, the ECMWF has called this one the best over the last 72 hours, with a consistent theme on the most part to bring in some slightly more noticeable totals through the home counties

It's just turned to snow here in South Woodham. Obviously I really can't see it settling but nice to see quite a few flakes Christmas week!

Here in NW essex, 5CM at least and still throwing it down. Looks like we got the sweet spot according to Wundermap. No rain to start, just snow since 7:55. Definitely can't see why there's doom and gloom on the MOD thread. Two pretty decent shots of snow (10th and today) and December isn't even over.
