Close to 3 inches of snow now, although it is very wet snow type so won't be around for long

More like sleet now - temp plus 1.2 C - More green than white on the grass. Humidity risen from 90 to 92%.

Travelling back from West Yorkshire on Friday morning. The Yorkshire thread is very slow. Can anyone shed any light on this forecast from the MetO.

6 hours of snow in the north?

Nice to see the  snow falling outside behind the Christmas tree in the living room making it feel more festive, albeit a few days late. Much to the disappointment of my 6-year-old son, doesn't look there will be enough snow falling and drop in ground temp for it to settle to make a snowman.

Fridays occlusion looks like sliding se judging by the latest faxes - east of se England but likely affecting Yorkshire. Latest ecm run delayed - not helpful

Definite snow here now but not enough to settle.

It's either not reached here yet or the Thames is doing it's best to stop any form of precipitation here in lowland Gravesend. Not a flake or a rain drop either. Strange when places north and south of here are reporting snow

Similar to today's event? Wintry on its northern edge? So I travel south it's likely to turn to sleety rain?

Thanks for the explanation ?

Blowing a hoolie and snowing high up in Brighton. It seems to have changed between rain sleet and snow on and off over the past hour.

My boyfriend is driving to oxford in an hour or so. Not sure if he’ll make it.

Wrap up warm kids!

Back to drizzly rain here after about 20 minutes of snow. Vile day, cold, wet and windy, ugh.

Not a flake to be seen in Surbiton, just windy and rainy. Possibly our lie-in scuppered the chances of seeing a flake or two, but being just down the road from @Mark wheeler who has only spotted a few flakes in Chessington it seems this area has missed out again.
