Grotty day here with low cloud, mist and a bit of drizzle. Feeling quite mild at 10C. Not very nice but at least we haven't seen much of this type of weather this winter.

But we did last winter...quite a few days of calm dank weather, after Xmas if my memory serves me right became foggy and quite cold. To me it's a waste of time this slow transition into a more mobile unsettled period coming around Xmas.

Absolutely drab, dreary weather at the mo. But how about this fantastic cloud formation photographed over Lincolnshire on Tuesday of this week. Wonderful.

P.S. Oops! Is Lincolnshire in our Region?? Well if not it should be and it's close enough to allow me to post this!! :D

I guess we can all concentrate on the Christmas build up, weather is officially cancelled.

Cloudy, mild with winds never getting above a moderate breeze with only a few spots of rain all the way up to and including the big day.

Maybe, just maybe something more interesting will develop from Boxing day onwards but that is a fair way off.

I think we’re on for heavy snow and a mini ice age from the 6th of Jan. Sun spot activity is at an all time minima and the MJO is forecast to go through the roof with Mountains talking to each other. Also Mars will be on an axis with Jupiter to omit Rossbery waves to the upper strat via a bit of trop fluxing. So all good ??

Although it is mild, it's just another day of mist and murk, drizzle and general grottiness :(

Could we please have some cold, crisp sunny days - soon?

Looks like a wet and mild Christmas, think there is some hope around 27th of a colder spell but even that will be transitory in my opinion, however the Grebes haven't flown yet etc etc so plenty of time for another snowy spell, has snowed on 4 separate days here so far this winter , and one day of laying snow, which is better than anything last year or the year before..

Feels pretty springlike here in London occasional glimpses of the sun feels quite nice when you’re in it. Not feeling festive one bit, mild, muggy and damp this mildness feels odd there’s been a distinct lack of it.

Yep very mild today without the need of a jacket really.

Christmas 3 days away.. WOW.

Just goes to show how decent December has been cold wise. Snow lingered here for 6 days (extremely patchy at day 4 and only snow balls and drive verges come day 6) after a fall of 12cm.

Better than anything I’ve had since 2013. So I’ll take that.

Leading up to my snow fix in 13 days time for 3 weeks in Montreal. Proper cold and proper snow.

Cannot wait, especially after the dire updated Meto update and pretty awful charts churning out.

Wow you did well, it’s been as dull as ditch water for the whole day here, a brief glimmer but didn’t come to much! :nonono:

Pretty nondescript sort of day here, reached 11C so felt mild. Hopefully we can catch a glimmer or two of sunshine before Christmas?

Let’s hope so, this dull-fest is the perfect antidote to any vigorous festive cheer! Wondering about Hastings town centre today, no need of a warm coat but a thin waterproof against the poxy drizzle. Total waste of time spending money at the hair dresser, 2 minutes outside and hello frizzy hair goodbye smooth locks! ? Well that’s enough whingeing, onwards and upwards, please God bless us all with some beautiful snow ❄️  ⛄️ Sooner rather than later.

Well nothing here has come to much for a long time.. Not really windy.. Not really cold.. Not really warm.. Not really wet.. Quite dry in fact...you know when you need the weather to do something.. But it don't.. When it rains hard.. Bouncing its...like Wow.. That's exciting...we have had a few frosts which is good...but it's sort of lacks dynamics unless in car in the back lanes.. Not saying the people in Caribbean havnt got fed up with keep sweeping their houses up from one end of the island and enough rain in an hour than Kent sees  in a year now it seems but.. But nothing seems to happen..not.here anyway...that should set it off.. Jinxed it now :-)

Our Region's turn to be stuck under persistent grey - although I notice @Ed Stone has managed to wangle a clear patch over Beccles!! :good:

Never mind, at least the models all agree we'll see a change from nothing to something by Boxing Day!

its been like living under a stone down here in East Sussex, grey skies, grey drizzle, grey fog, grey mist. not see the sun for days, not had any weather. Not looking forward to a double digit cloudy xmas, but at least should be a bit brighter next week.
