Just been speaking to a mate, used to be a meteorologist for the army, he thinks it' going to be a big winter for snow in the se. We will see. He also thinks the models are off and snow will be quite widespread around Christmas. Although I agree with that bit, I think from the north west with the cold pool from this high helping with snow for down south. He thinks from the east.

*yawn*

Good to see some Fog in the forecast, however too late for OFI (October Fog Index) I love those bleak atmospheric mornings something enchanting about them.

The sun rise in today's mist was lovely, a very big red sun, with the red traveling through the mist. Couldn't take a pic, was on the bus, school run.

Gorgeous winter day here, sunny, light winds and a frosty start, yet again. Maximum temperature 7C. Not a bad winter so far. Hopefully, that fog will be freezing. Told my Mum about the fog and she reckons it's a sign that we will get loads of snow sometime this winter. Her friend Sue had some help decorating her tree, says the boys are now free for more work...

He can call it the "Hot pot sock". Credit for the idea and 75% of the profits to me as creative director. Thanks.

Warning for freezing fog issued, and a mention of frost later in the week also, I never expected the cold to cling on this long down here. But it is all change from tomorrow and into the weekend, could be some "interesting" weather dependent on what you prefer.

Still air under a high always keeps temps suppressed, with a risk of freezing fog, that can keep temps low the next day too. It depends on if the high stays clear or gets cloudy, cloudy highs are warmer. If we can stay in the bit of the high with no isobars, it could stay cold while we are under it. If the surface is cold when the north-westerly comes, it depends on if the cold air undercuts before the front. All we'll need is -1 or below for snow, Above that and freezing rain is possible instead. it all depends on if we warm up or stay cold, and the angle of attack. Obviously a south-westerly will warm the surface, But westerly/north-westerly, not so much.
