Woke up to thick freezing fog this morning and it's only lifted a little bit, so far :(

Temp has managed to creep up to 0C - thermometer in the greenhouse registered -3C overnight.

A proper air frost this morning with some freezing fog. Unfortunately it has lifted into a gloomfest with the temperatures picking up quite quickly.

Same here, Matt - here comes the milder weather!

Still some chilly nights to come, car scraping will still be required tomorrow morning, with Tuesday morning looking like a total fog-fest!

I never woke up to a frost it was raining you did well Nick it’s unusual for snow to stick around as long as that albeit bits and pieces probably. The fog expected midweek will inhibit the temperatures from rising.

My work is in view of the highest points of the Chilterns and there are a fair few snow patches still up there. Rain has now arrived though :(

I've just landed at Stansted. There's still a lot of snow piled up at the side of the runway. Still some patches on the way to London too (currently at Harlow).

You can blame me for the change in weather pattern. It was always going to take place when I arrived. :nonono:

what a difference a week makes. But there are still spots of snow around. Amazing. In day me ma would of said it's hanging around for more, but sadly I don't think this will be the case.

Lovely cold rain, we had a fair bit of that yesterday too and we had a dry forecast

And oh yeah there's a thunderstorm symbol for my area too. LOL.:nonono:

:santa-emoji: as if..

After a bright but cold start here with copious frost, it soon clouded over and chucked it down for the rest of the day. Quite mild now at 9C. No dramas as had the final of Strictly to watch, a pork roast and the Liverpool game, all good :)

Well of course, as to what it will be, who knows, even the models keep changing still.

14 days of S.Westerlys forcast now. Wind & rain to boot. Im sure the mods were forcasting heights over Scandi this time last week. What happened AGAIN !!!

Very very frustrating in the Mod thread..

We go through this every year it seems.

Hopes dashed ..

Even the more respected people dont apear to be able to offer hope.

Whinge over....

^^ Thank goodness we've got the 'Lassie & Staines' show on this thread, to keep us smiling during dismal model output!! :D

Nice start here; mainly clear sky but some very thin high cloud turning a nice pink as the sun came up. Down to -1C overnight so a touch of ground frost. Tomorrow looks interesting from a weather perspective with widespread and possibly freezing fog. A coating of rime over everything will make it look very pretty out..... but... an absolute nightmare for anyone planning a road trip tomorrow. Postpone if you can.

We have medium term forecast of dry and cloudy temps 3-9 which to me is the worst of all worlds.  Proper Atlantic weather would be warmer saving on heating bills and wetter replenishing ground water.  There are no upsides to coolish, cloudy and dry.

Well the bend that made me loose it has claimed more victims today and yesterday. One guy in the ditch and this morning my brother was front of the 6 car pile up on it.. No grit in site, luckily got a bag council rung, absolutely disgraceful from the council

I hope they do something about it soon.
