I am not sure whats going on! Definitely melting on the patio. Was nice proper snow, c 1cm (easily pleased) but now looking a bit slushy. Hoping for more showers to top up then clear skies and cold.

Only -2C here currently in deepest, darkest, Shropshire -13C that’s pretty cold most likely the coldest it’s got outside of the Highlands since 2010. :)

Not down our road, had non stop rain yesterday, so roads have frozen overnight and now we have quite heavy snow coming down on top of that, not looking forward to driving this morning.

Lying snow around my area has refrozen, with large frozen puddles around too.

Hopefully not all the roads will be ice rinks, safe journey:sorry:

Good morning all, VERY HEAVY SNOW here in Oulton, Lowestoft, everything now covered after freezing last night, looking at the radar looks like a nice blob over the Lowestoft area, looks like at least another Hr of snow.

Main roads might be ok, country roads I’ve gotta use where flooded yesterday, so might be tricky  but thanks Lassie,  still coming down out there and radar showing large blob coming straight for us. Didn’t hear the thunder we had on the coast last night though, shame.

Just checked the weather monitor and its a chilly -3.2c here

Very clear and icy, still got some residual snow and slush which is very tricky underfoot

Just checked Benson out of interest, -9c there, would hate the heating bills if I lived there

Absolutely lethal out there. Still quite a lot of lying snow here in Chingford, completely iced over.

Had to call a cab to get to the station. Walking not an option on these pavements!

What a night! We had very loud thunder cracks directly overhead as well as around half a dozen lightning bolts, I was really frightened and on top of that it was snowing at the same time and the light looked really odd in the snow! It looked like the air was about to catch fire. Its the only time I've ever seen  that in my entire life! Snow is everywhere on the ground now.

Just very bitter this morning. Already this winter has been better than last. I am definitely a summer person but if it is going to cold, at least snow or be proper cold. Can't bear that cold grey nothingness.

So, only -1.8 this morning but everything's white and, as @Lauren says, this is better than last winter. I'm a snow-obsessive, but more important to me is that we get cold weather in winter - mild feels wrong and it can really b*gger up our wildlife, especially insects.
