Seems a bit hole has opened up in the ppn, with cambridge right underneath! Shame really, looks like 20 miles down the road they are still getting pasted!

Heavy snow in Chingford hasn’t stopped all day

What part of Chingford? We are near the dogs stadium and it has just started to snow again but prior to the snow it was raining for a good 30mins!

Rain has stopped and temps are slowly creeping down again. Met Office forecast isn't loading now but BBC weather has changed tomorrow's light snow to sleet.

3.6c now at RGS. Also netweather has a 60% chance of snow later this afternoon. BBC also forecasting snow for us tomorrow, maybe we will get something!

Despite the radar showing sleet and rain, it's been snowing here continously in walthamstow for over 5 hours now (switching between very light, light and moderate). Currently big flakes! Maybe about 6cm build up now. Temperature less than 1 degree.

Exceeded all expectations!

Yeah same for my neck of the woods. BBC unexpectedly showing light and heavy snow for me tomorrow. Did that come out of nowhere?

To be honest I was thinking more the -9 ??

Forecast yesterday said rain but we're over 8cm in this part of London and still coming down. Best snow event here since 2010. There were no gritters out last night from what I could see and unsurprisingly cars unable to make it up Barnet Hill/Meadway are been abandoned.

Yep, no gritters. Northern London suburbs with elevation cut off!

Guys there seems to be another band of light- moderate snow coming across the country possibly another cm or two in a few hours?

To the folks saying no gritters are out...Just think about it. Each local authority has thousands of km of roads, and a handful of gritters. The chances of you actually spotting one unless you are stood there for 3 or 4 hours in the same spot are pretty small :D

The gritters were out. Grit isn't a magic pixie dust that stops snow from settling.
