Would today's snow increase the chances of snow for tomorrow as it lowers the air temperatures?

looks like Essex is the hardest hit with widespread totals of 5 inches.

I've done an official measurement on the wheelie bin and we have 5cms here at the moment. Still snowing but lighter than before. I've studied the warning maps on the met office site and reckon I'm just in the Amber warning zone so maybe a bit more to come, hopefully.

How bizarre is that, now the pivot has started and its moving South its all rain now, just shows how crucial the wind direction is in these instances!

Pretty pish eh Paul. Still at least we have seen snow I suppose ??

yes we definitely do seem to have done well here. I don't think it's letting up any time soon either. Been going since at least 5.30am when my other half woke me up after he looked out of the window to it all white outside.

I think Stevenage has done best in England for this snowfall :-)

Just logged-in, so I don't know much about what's happened other than reading what's been posted here in the last few minutes.  Early sleety rain here has transitioned to wet snow that's trying to lay but isn't really doing so.  Any uopdates for later today/tomorrow that I need to be aware of?

In Feltham west London (1 mile from Heathrow) we have light rain. Think we were just on the wrong side of the line, barely a covering left from this morning now. Well done to all those on the right side! May have to jump in the car with the kids shortly to find the proper stuff.

How depressing :(

I live not far off 600ft and not a single snow flake, yet north kent ON THE BLOODY COAST and it was snowing heavy :(

Just grey nothingness here - had very light dusting earlier though. Come on, pivot, PIVOT! :D So frustrating watching all the snow just a tad to the north of me all morning! :diablo:

Edit - I don't get why I've been under light snow on the radar for a few hours now, yet nothing has fallen since around 8? :cc_confused:

Still clinging on to light but persistent snow in Romford.  About an inch on the garden table, which was a surprise as I thought this was more likely to transition to snow in the evening and overnight!

Part of me is old enough now to still be thrilled at snow falling, but slightly unamused that I've got to drive my train in it tomorrow. And I don't think it's likely we'll get the magic 8 inches somehow (no dirty comments!)

NW Essex have done well as expected

We've done massively well here and totally unexpected! I'm 13 miles north of you as the crow flies, in Heybridge. We have a good 4+ inches and its still snowing.

At 6am it was torrential rain!

Started light and patchy (but all settled so a dusting) up until 7-8am in south Cambs - since then it’s been really heavy and must have accumulated a good 4 inches now. Keep it coming!!!

I think ink the situation has been much better than forecast for EA- I always knew the GFS would struggle with the true cold air displacement. A big event this for sure

feel sorry for the poor souls on the South and South East coast though!
