Turned to rain in Gillingham, all to play for the next 48 hours!

Nice to see optimistic throwoff back after yesterdays "lost all hope" post!

I genuinely thought we were out of the running, again I failed to follow my own advice - snow is 10% forecast, 90% nowcast.

I need to do a 1 hour anti clockwise m25 Motorway run from Surrey to Blackheath SE London around 4pm today...am I likely to get stuck, or will it all be rain then?

Just popped in from my winter hybernation from the storm forum to say we have snow here. About 1.5cm at the moment and it's still falling! Hope everyone is doing ok.

Norfolk needs rid of this sleet, to be honest it's just drizzle here at the moment. How unlucky can you be!

About the same in Deal. Rain was forecast, rain was had!

Funny the difference in such a small area we had heavy snow for a while what has fallen is still there even the slush on the road and yet sheerness is right on the sea anyway I am happy for now.

Snow started here at around 8am.

We have around 1-2cm accumuated however the snow showers seem to have gone very light and seems like sleet now....

The snow on the ground is thawing a little...

Can't quite believe the contrast in temperatures between the south coast (10c) and London just above freezing. Only 50 odd miles but very different weather . A real damp but expected squib in the far south .

Left the house in Leigh-on-Sea at 7.30am just as the rain was transitioning to heavy snow. Onshore wind having an effect there as I’m now on the train into London and the South Essex corridor all the way along the Thames from Benfleet to West Ham (so far) is experiencing heavy snowfall and decent settling. Will be interested to see whether anything has stuck in Leigh when I get back this evening.

Working in the City all day and bizarrely the forecast is better - heavier snow and lower temps than Leigh, and all for longer. So I might do better for snow in the City believe it or now.

We’ll see though, looks like today will be a very marginal “nowcasting” type of day!

I will tell right now my friend that we have a layer of snow. Not much but it's still coming down. BBC forecast still calls for heavy rain.
