It was always forecast to start off being very marginal however I wouldn't give up hope yet.

As you can see on https://www.ventusky.com/?p=52.9;-1.2;5&l=freezing the freezing level is around 400m in north London at the moment but is expected to drop to 100m/0 in the next hour or so as the winds wrap round to a more northerly direction.

LTN Airport seems to be open for the time being. Just looking at FR24, a W6 A320 from Cluj seems to have been in a hold for some time over Suffolk, but now routing down towards RWY 08.

A bit of a wintry mix here, a mess of wet flakes, sleet and rain, but the temperature is still dropping.

Is the snow line expected to go south as the winds become more northerly when the LP moves away?

I've gone from 3.0c to 2.5c within an hour

So about an inch and a half (4cms ish) so far which is fantastic after thinking it would just be rain or sleet at best. Really hope that the magic flakes show up for others as the system moves during the day :cold-emoji:

For those on mobiles, I'm in the Chiltern Hills.
