So the 0530z BBC forecast completely ignoring what's going on out of the window.

Still reporting rain for the Home Counties.

That's maybe because the forecast was filmed several hours ago,  the weather personel are (sensibly) tucked up in bed! :-)

Started around 3:30 am with about 5mm and settling in North Bucks between Buckingham and Milton Keynes. Local lamppost calibrates it as moderate intensity with a slight hint of sleetyness.

Well I woke to hear my other half at the window saying everything was white. Beautiful. We have had a proper covering here and it's still coming down. Spring outside under the umbrella in my onesie having a smoke and coffee. Don't know temperature but I do know its absolutely bitter out here in Stevenage. Lovely!

Chucking it down IMBY, too early for any interest here, although I think I'll be unlikely to see many flakes today, a combination of too-far-south, too coastal and too much wind later on. Probably a hazardous day to drive so stay safe Kent folk. Glad those in the NW of the region seem to be doing well so far!

Ah okay, quite a bit south then.

Guess I could have snow falling for a while now then seeing as we've already just about got it here?

Expect a good covering more than anything we’ve seen since Jan 2013. :)

Snow/rain line just took a rather large shift north, hopefully it’s the furthest it’s going to go ?

Still not convinced we'll see anything much here, so good luck to those further south for when rain turns back to snow.

Radar can’t be correct. I have a report of thick snow in north London.

Rain starting to turn to sleet now - let's hope it's the start of a trend. :-)

Fairly heavy snow here at the moment, no sign of rain.
