Nice blob of green on the radar just South of me at Hailsham. Sleet, or just rain. So tempting to hop in the car.

Go have a look you only live once!

didn't need to, just poked my head out the back door, a mix of very fine light flakes and a few larger wet ones mixed in. Just started. Current temp -0.4

Result, I can now go to bed happy that I have actually seen snow today, or more likely, hop in the car and drive 5 minutes up the road where it's far less likely to be wet flakes!

-4.6? Hope you got your thermals on !

Yeah, I thought my sensor was possibly out, but a few others are seeing between -3.5 & similar to mine. We tend to get a lot colder than surrounding areas. Buntingford is about 120m above sea level which helps and is very close to Reed, one of the highest points in Herts at about 180m.

Since moving out of London, it's amazes me how cold it gets here considering it's only 20 miles North of London.

Reed, just up the road from us gets great snowfall and big snow drifts across the A10 road.  Must have been amazing there during the famous 1947 and 1963 winters.

Yes, I can certainly recommend it.

It’s a lovely drive and you’ll get to experience some rain when you arrive.

Oh hello fellow Buntinfordonian! Yes, the A10 just south of buntingford near the Westmill turn off gets massive snow drifts as snow blows off neighbouring fields. The worst I saw since living here (almost 25 years) is March 2013 - police had to close a lane.

No frost at all here, definitely feeling warmer than during daylight hours!
