Still too marginal over my side - gained and then lost again sleet/snow symbols ? Anyone else from my area in here?

Gritted main roads in town at 1:30 here.

Yep, Kent said they'd have all primary roads gritted by 4pm.

Do you know what for?

Is it frost cause with the high cloud about, I'm not sure there will be any tonight before the probable rain starts.

Interestingly the BBC now have my area down for a max of 1 degrees tomorrow, it’s gone from 5 to 3 to 1 in 24 hours. Evidence maybe that the snow line is further south.

Frost and ice, we forecast for Kent council. Just looking at the road sensors and some places have got road temperatures already near zero. Really doesn't take much of a clear break at this time of year after a cold few days for it to cause issues!

Desperate times etc. but the GEM has shifted it south significantly.

Well I can confirm that Guildford felt very festive today - aka FREEZING!!! But also festive due to the Christmas lights and a band and choir playing carols!!! Along with the cold weather it felt very atmospheric!

Still gutted we won't be seeing snow tomorrow and that the Meto update says mild leading up to Christmas but fingers crossed for January!xx

Essex County council, have done a full grit run, we have light moderate and heavy runs, which is the indication towards the temperature and ice levels forecasts by the met office, done all the routes we have for Essex today, first run was at 7 am, then around 1/2pm, then there will be one at 8pm and 2am, and so on for the possibility of any snow tommorow, just thought I’d let you know, makes you a little excited if they are preparing for something, has the commercial forecast got something we don’t know about :cold:

I feel more hopeful than ever regarding snow down here on the south coast monday.  Netweather are saying midday til 6pm.  I find the uncertainty really exciting!  Loving Nicks posts :)

Yes it’s so frustrating, any Easterly we have had in recent years are so short in their duration .

Looks like more of Norfolk and Suffolk being thrown into play in the latest ARPEGE - looking like up to 10cm in those lucky spots in EA. Uppers look like staying in the right ballpark of -3/-4 throughout the main event.

I'm finding the uncertainty exciting and excruciating :D

So glad I'm not at work this weekend, I can just enjoy/despair at the madness.
