Not just PPN mind, it does all weather parameters like an ordinary model.

I'm trying to divert my attention toward other things...But, as it's only 1C, so far today, I'm finding diversion is something rather difficult to achieve!:drunk:

Only 40mins and our spurs are on?

I notice you're down the road from me! This is going down to the wire, I'm increasingly optimistic but it's still so so knife edge.

I know, I reckon I’m either winter wonderland or dreaded cold rain.

Personally I think it will be snow to sleet/rain and then back to snow as the colder air backs down again. Would love everything to be 30 miles south. ?

Latest BBC News24 weather going with the main band of snow/warnings for the midlands and sleet/rain mix for my neck of the woods...I think the southern extent of this is not nailed by any means yet given recent posts...but come tomorrow we will find out!

If you're only 'increasingly optimistic ' in Aylesbury then I will lose my early afternoon cheer !  you are 400 feet too

400 feet? I wish :D Only 275ft here. Although Wendover Woods is a 20 minute drive from me and that's closer to 900ft, so if all else fails...

Love it there - not sure it's as much about elevation as intensity bringing the freezing level down during the morning. Of course 900 feet is another matter !

You'll be pushing it that far south I'm afraid! Although I've not had chance to look at Monday's event in any detail yet.

Afternoon all, can't help but feel us here in West Suffolk could potentially go either way in this setup - increasingly flip floping on various models and forecasts between heavy rain and heavy snow. Really hope those marginal uppers are bumped a tad further away.  I am remaining hopeful to be on the right side of marginal for once. Alas, all we know for sure is we've got a interesting couple of days in store.

Evaporative cooling *may* come into play but I fear the winds are simply too strong for that, too much mixing.

I want to take my kids to the snow tomorrow as it wont be coming to where we are in Sussex by looks of it.

Thanks to this forum it should be nice and easy to find out where we need to drive to when you start showing off with your snow pictures lol

Maximum temperature for me for tomorrow has dropped from 7C yesterday to 6C this morning to now 5C, and that's just for a few hours before falling again -  and wait for it - I now have sleet symbols! :yahoo::rofl: @throwoff don't give up hope yet: our area could still get something! :D

Edit - Actually one hour of snow too!

What a load of crud this cold spell has been for SE

Roll on a decent Easterly this winter please :)

12z GFS shifts everything that little bit further south too. Although the Goofus being the Goofus it keeps the southeast postively balmy. Nevertheless, there's a southward trend across the board.

15z UKV is out at about 5pm.
