The snow potential on Monday - I have to travel from Chelmsford to Heathrow to pick up someone in the evening.

Should I be worried??

After holding onto hope for a very long time I have finally conceded defeat for this event in Gillingham.

Good luck the rest of you, may the snow gods smile upon you!

Don't give up yet, NetWx-SR has snow for us tomorrow morning before it turns back to rain

And then back to snow again tomorrow evening

I think N Kent/London will see some falling snow tomorrow before it turns back to rain, accumulations unlikely. Perhaps a small chance of further snow in the evening but NetWx-SR seems to be the only model suggesting that at present.

Im optimistic about a dusting Monday- having that bit of elevation should support a more wintry picture !

Im also expecting a few flakes tomorrow- im only 20 miles from the hirlam snow zone so still in with a shout...

Steve,

i’m up the road from you in New Barn. Keep us updated... just want enough for my 2 year old daughter to play in

I must not let myself get my hopes up lol. I’ve been saying for he last week I can’t see the SE getting anything from this. Still can’t as I think it’ll change again but you never know

If we see a 30 mile shift south, I’ll be in the snow zone. Is that possible with just 24 hours to go?

I'm trying to divert my attention toward other things...But, as it's only 1C, so far today, I'm finding diversion is something rather difficult to achieve!:drunk:

The UKMO fax chart for tomorrow stunned me a bit.. that would bring the SE right into it surely? It doesn’t fit in within anything else though so really confusing.

12z UKV with another southwards shift of the colder air for tomorrow, 0c DP line about 15-20 miles or so further south.

I’m 10 miles east of Reading. Does that put this area close to the 0c DP line, Nick. Also, that’s a considerable shift south!

Probably as it clears it'll turn to snow, but for the bulk of it it's still just not cold enough unfortunately.

I see these shifts S are being fairly consistent however we need more though the UKMO fax chart for tomorrow intrigues me a lot has the Met Office thinking changed?

Scraped 4c today, there has been quite a lot of high cloud around.

Looking good for tomorrow here but I will have to wait and see what happens when I get up I guess. The forecast looks bitter until midweek with ice days possible if we get a good dumping tomorrow.

I just hope we see some snow. I’m a big kid at heart, but my little Niece and Nephew (aged 4 and 6) are yet to see snow on the ground, so it would be lovely for them!

Whats ukv? UKmet?

It's the super hi-res (1.5km) UKMO model, supersedes the Euro4.
