The latest NetWx-SR is not without interest and shows a second waves of snowfall moving through Wales and into the London area Sunday evening.

Although a couple of models bring it south i would say Sunday is a dud for most in this area and think Monday has more chance of delivering but the problem i see is if the low moves too far north most will get rain and south....most will see snow but with limited precipitation. If i am totally honest i think this possible snow event for us is going to be meh but really do believe we will drag in those easterlies around new year and then we can stick our fingers up to those up north :)

I actually disagree - I think at shorter range distances, the HD resolution models are designed to pick up specifics whereas the broader, bigger models are intended to identify medium term trends. In fact, if you look at the BBC forecasts they bear a striking resemblance to both of the above models in the output for Sunday. On balance I think most in our region will most probably still see a snow-rain event (apart from the far south and far north with different outcomes), but I wouldn’t discount things like this from happening (not that you are, but you know what I mean)...

Hi ITSY I didn’t say most would not see snow falling I was more meaning the snow that most would like to see which is enough snow to make a snow ball or build a snow man. To make myself clearer i believe a fair few in the area will see falling snow at some point but don’t believe it will be enough to make use of it if you see what i mean. Northants and North Bedfordshire maybe but not for most.

I even think higher elevations of Kent will see some falling snow but lets be honest that’s not what most want!

After holding onto hope for a very long time I have finally conceded defeat for this event in Gillingham.

Good luck the rest of you

Hi all,

I'm a long-time lurker, lured by the (faint) prospect of snow on Sunday! Please ignore the graphic posted by Cheesrice, it's a forecast from 10 years ago, NOT this Sunday. See the forecast here...

Here's the full forecast: https://t.co/bJeH5t39og

Think you'd still get a good period of snow from that - and with temps reaching nearly 10C in London by the afternoon, if any snow did settle it would be gone pretty damn quickly.

Thanks - Darren bett had a different graphic and London didn't look god, I don't know why they cant have a system by where old data isn't used, anyway if you look on met office map it still has leeds and even north yorks down for heavy snow but thibk it will correct south, anyway sorry for of topic post, good luck London Monday morning.

Hm, you're right - the forecast Cheese Rice posted isn't online yet. I don't know why the graphics are different - the Darren Bett forecast is even later than the one I posted and looked completely different.

That looks like the old forecast you've posted cheese what I posted reflects the correction south.

Can someone order an accurate up to date forecast please that isn't an archive forecast and doesn't massively exaggerate the snow area?:D
