Just  moved the car for my poor husband who will be working under a bridge tonight somewhere in Essex, opened the door and the cold hit me like a very hard slap in the face. Its reading 1degree at the moment. :cold::cold:

I seem to be right on the boundary line, which would explain the back-and-forth re: sleet on the forecast. So close, may have to bundle kiddo in the car and nip up to Berks if they get anything.

Yep,  2 friends who live in villages north of Milton Keynes now have sleet showing from the Met Office for Sunday. 

Expect the Meto warnings for north of the region to disappear tomorrow 

Hopefully something for Monday, if not bring back the dry and Sunny weather please. 

Cold rain or wet sleet - no thanks.

Latest forecast on bbc news with Tomaz S, not sure if it was live or not, showed any snow way to the west of us - Wiltshire/Gloucestershire/Oxfordshire at a guess. He also stated any snow would be transitory. Graphics showed temps of 5 and 6 over our region. Graphics also showed gale force easterlies and heavy rain for us. Yuk.

should have said this was for Monday

Very brave call with what some models are churning out currently. Even areas that start off with rain could find as the wind turns more to a NE direction digging the colder uppers South again at least see some snow falling. A very, very marginal set up but high risk can (and has before) bring high reward. The winter 0f 2012/13 demonstrated this nicely.

You may be pleasantly surprised by the forecasts tomorrow :)

I would have thought as the winds turn NE it will mix in warmer air from the North Sea and not helpthe cause?

If you look at the progress of the low as it moves into the North Sea the colder uppers get pulled south on the backside of the low.

I'm in Maidstone I will miss out on it all. Rain predicted for me.  Not unusual as every year I face the same problem the warm air gets mixed into the front/low and my snow turns into rain.  Enjoy all those who get snow.  At least I will be able to get into work on Monday lol

Could be some serious totals in our region on monday after all the poxy rain!

Hopefully the Low sinks south a little, i really don't need to be soaking wet and freezing cold all day long :angry:

Ok some good news and some bad......the good news is Sunday’s slider is further south on the 18z meaning the snow line is further south but the bad news is the Monday low is also further south meaning not so much precipitation, however those further south east of the area would have more a chance in seeing some white stuff :)

the only time we are more or less guaranteed any worthwhile snow event in our region is when we get a north easterly or easterly.....and they are both a rarity, so basically we end up with crap.  for such a small island its ridiculous how the weather is each region is totally different.  An island this small should have the same weather across the board.

Yep, I’m just on the boundary between the light blue and the green lines on Steve’s isotherm graphic. Here’s hoping for a south easterly movement before the event...
