Shall we all pretend we absolutely love rain? The next few days would be incredibly exciting that way

The ECM 12z still showing a decent event for some, the snow line pretty much runs on the same angle as the A3, just about 30 miles to the east. Not to say there isn't snow east of that line, it just doesn't settle well.

I guess south of london doesn't look great but East anglia still looking at sizeable amounts. 8 inches for NW essex expected (according to weather.us ECM 12z)

There's a fair bit of potential for many of us to see snow, with accumulations, on Monday. More so to the N and W of London. Too early to write off yet.

Between 4-6 inches for Hampshire and western Surrey as well on the 12z ECM op. Plenty of time for changes however!

Southern areas may have ruled out snow but it's still looking highly uncertain here. Could either get a covering or a ton of rain. I'd be happy with the snow to rain event that's showing currently for my location as it'd give me numerous hours of snow cover before the rain moves in and melts the snow away, right now looks like possibly up to an inch or two if we're lucky which i'd take anyway in snow starved norfolk. Good luck all for this event

Filthy jokes aside, the ECM must think we'll be getting the largest sleetflake imaginable. I'm wondering if I should take out extra home insurance in case it takes the chimney off.

Chris Fawkes has tweeted southern england could get 20cm of snow Monday! And the ECM has much of the region with a covering by Tuesday morning, only the far south east misses out! I just don’t understand it though, bbc met office just show rain!

Let’s hope the ECM is right it certainly seems to be something that keeps cropping up.

Wow wouldn't that be truly amazing!

Hopefully it's just because the met have not stuck their necks on the line yet

for such a small poxy island its ridiculous how when we get snow (emphasis on the 'when') it manages to confine itself to about 50 square miles rather than the whole country.  we can't win in this country.
