The Cheshire Gap Streamer is intensifying and flowing more towards the SE regions.

Light snow has been reported in Guildford, Reading, Maidenhead, Maidstone, Essex, London - just to name a few :)

I'm such an interested weather novice but trying to learn. Ive been watching the uk snow map this morning. The line of snow is directly in our line. Is the snow clump to due fizzle put before reaching us/a wind change. I'm right on the coast so I'm in with very little chance but in curious. If its on that path why not us ?????

Sunday's snow risk has appeared to move a little S, so areas N of London are in with a decent shout of accumulating snow. Monday looks a bit crazy! NE'ly gales and the NW half of our region could get a blizzard, IF these charts are correct.....:)

Doesn't look so good for us for Monday, heavy rain turning to snow later?

It looks perfect, once it starts moving se look at all the snow north of us to move over. Will be heavy enough to land on wet surfaces. If that happens as modelld we will a get a substantial covering. Problem is the storm force. Winds.

Possible severe storm coupled with gale force winds for Monday?

As it stands so far, heavy rain will turn to heavy snow Monday afternoon/evening.

If this does verify, structural damage is possible, flooding in low lying areas and then a white out blizzard conditions for a while.

Still room for changes, so let's see how this pans out.

All a matter of temperature - the right one and you've got yourself a blizzard; the wrong one and you've got yourself severe flooding.

Juding by the latest GFS we could be in the firing line but we would need a 50 mile correction south again.

Still don't think we'll see snow here. Maybe somewhere like St Albans been the wintry line.

If the precipitation is heavy enough IMO it will settle. Could be the best chance we’ve had in shy of 5 years and if that doesn’t deliver we have Monday which looks very promising. :)

I'm not sure how I feel about being that close to the wintry line!

I'll be travelling back to Harrow from the north midlands on Sunday evening, so with any luck i'll get to see two snow events (that's if the trains are running Sunday evening..)

GFS is very marginal for Monday, and certainly for my area (Harrow) i can see heavy sleet at best (GFS), although those in the home counties could get a real pasting. To note that the ECM has the precipitation further south, although snow restricted to higher ground

The ARPEGE has the precipitation clipping Kent - lots of changes to come!

The Cotswolds and Chilterns are zapping the energy out of the Cheshire Gap streamer.

Ox/Berks and points W/NW of there in with a chance of a few showers. Everyone else, sun, clouds and wind.

Yellow warning issued for southern counties for wind on Sunday, surprised it hasn't for rain, as it looks very heavy for down here.

Latest Met Office warnings update shows the snow risk to the N of London. Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, parts of Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk are in the warning area with N parts of Bedfordshire in an amber snow warning. The rest of us are to get rain (quite a lot of it, too). Then there is a warning for strong winds over much of our region on Sunday. Monday not mentioned, yet....

Bare in mind the Met Office warnings are disruption based, you could see snow falling outside of the warning zones, it's just unlikely to settle and thus, wont be disruptive hence no warning

Re: Mondays snowfall. The GFS has it quite far North and gives our little region rain whilst further North gets dumped on, again.

GFS.thumb.gif.347d3e1ca7af42647667dca1d71dd667.gif

The higher resolution models APERGE and NetWx-MR have the system so far South it doesn't even reach England but rather, moves into France

APERGE.thumb.jpg.2d0bbeec00f5ca6bd818d9ddde04c64e.jpgNetWx-MR.thumb.png.ca143d1d170039ef6ddfe7f45cb69aeb.png

The FAX has it a little further North than the High-Res models but further South than the GFS and brings in an occluded front across our region, but the 528DAM is well to the North.

So in terms of Monday.. no idea. It ranges from dry, wet to snowfest depending on which model you look at. Personally I'd be going with the FAX/High Res models over the GFS
