Lets hope we keep up the Southward correction and bring more snow starved southerns into the game

Aye that’s what history tells us southern corrections!

I have to drive to Cheltenham early Saturday and back again Sunday afternoon! Looks like a good chance I could get snowed in somewhere. Perhaps I shouldn’t go?

Unfortunately , this wont be nailed until we see the low show up on the live pressure charts and radar. It will be one of those events where it comes down to the wire

Looks ok as Cheltenham or the M4 not in the snow zone at the moment. Where are you driving from, though?

I am finding this event very confusing and very annoying.   Does anyone know where the snowline ends at the moment?

I'm finding the build up quite enjoyable, I doubt the Sunday snow line will reach me even if it moves south anyway. So not really chasing it. I love how it keeps moving around keeping us all guessing. Just like old times.

I couldn't agree more! I always love the buildup & anticipation on here, even if it dosen't work out!

This will be my last winter living in SE. Moving to East Midlands early next year. I doubt we will get very different weather there but hoping we might get a few more snow events.

I don't post in here much but want to thank those who recognise my name, (and those who don't), for their constantly interesting and informative posts. And Merry Christmas/Yule/Holidays to all.

Fingers crossed for a touch of London/SE snow before I go x

Not yet - it will go down to the day itself. To be fair this is usually the case with the positioning of most lows; it's just that nobody cares if a rain band is 50 miles north or south!

So....are the models showing a southward shift of the snow line? It looks like it to me, though there are far more knowledgeable peeps on here than I. I'm a little concerned about my drive up to Banbury, Oxfordshire on Sunday. Some models are forecasting 12" of snow there. Having scary thoughts of being stranded on the M40 for hours....

You seem to be safe Dami whether there is a northern or southern adjustment expect a wintry scene.

Your area looks favourable for a dumping of snow. Enjoy :)

Not the popular opinion here and usually I am all for snow, but praying we get nothing Sunday and for next week. House move next Friday, but before that the gas board need to get to property to fit gas meter Monday, then install into property Tuesday, carpet fitters Wednesday, if we get snow that will be just the excuse they need to not turn up and move won’t happen! So to the weather gods, please hold the white stuff til the following week, then I’ll be singing, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow :cold-emoji: reading this board all week has been giving me anxiety, of course I remeber clearly stating over a month ago that I would guarantee snow this week because I was moving :sorry:

There is a genuine chill in the air this morning.

You know it's cold when you get to work and the first thing everyone says is 'bloody hell, cold this morning'

Before this changes into drizzle, let me take a moment for Met0's current forecast for my area.
