SE and East Anglia generalweather discussion 08/11/2017 onwards

My first air frost of the season here this morning with -0.9c in my garden. XC Weather is reporting light snow showers at Lydd Airport, not too far from here.

Loving the sleet and snow reports guys!

Have to say I've never had central heating in my adult life until we installed it in March this year - and I'm bloody glad of it these cold mornings!

Too far west for the flakey  fun but i'm hoping for a surprise.

Well I've only just been brave enough to get out of bed on my week off and have a look out the window, turns out we've had our first covering of snow of the season overnight

Hi Steve, I record on my iphone then download onto my laptop. I then choose files on the net-weather posting and it uploads this way. Hope that helps.

The snow has stopped here at present. Looks like we could be in for more here in Lowestoft late morning.

Its not the greatest of flows but 7am Fri looks the best for suffolk & kent - again temperature pending

( the wind barbs chart would have been better to use )

Winds veer to the north across EA over coming few hours, then to the NE from 15:00 this afternoon as the low drifts south. Temperature's will rise a degree or two here on the east coast of Norfolk and Suffolk, so most precipitation will turn back to rain and hail later this evenings. Inland will benefit from the NE winds later as this will push the showers inland. With temperature's lower here due to the lack of moisture from N.Sea and with night-time approaching I suspect areas around Thetford, Bury St. Edmunds and Newmarket to get a covering before midnight.

Wow had a snow shower about 8:30 This morning lasted about 30 mins. Didn't expect it to be snow near the sea, but it was.

First snow flakes of the season from a shower driving through west Kent earlier this morning, hit a patch of black ice on a wet bend of a country lane too, managed to recover fortunately.

If thats all snow on the radar Norwich must be getting an absolute pasting!

It is a very sunny day with scattered clouds and the temperature is 0 °C  and the apparent temperature is -2.0 °C .  The dew point is 0.1 °C  and the humidity is at 78%.

Precipitation hasn't reached Norwich yet. Another hour or so and they will be getting heavy snow as showers move inland. Radar.

That light blob to the North on London seems to be heading straight for me, hopefully about to see my first snowfall of the season!

Frosty when I left home in Suffolk this morning, temperature -0.6C,  then a sprinkling of snow on the verges as I travelled south down the M11. A dusting of snow on the ground and gently snowing now I'm at work in Stansted. It's not even December yet!

I can report very light, flying snow here in Romford. In the meantime, sun is still out!
