At my home near Nenthead, at over 400 metres' elevation it has been a dry bright day with chilly northerly winds. Maximum temperature of 7C making this the coldest day yet this season. Started clear this evening allowing the temperature to fall to 1C with the north wind falling light, then a bank of strato-cumulus cloud moved in threatening to prevent air-frost from occurring. Thankfully the cloud cleared away over an hour ago and the air-temperature was 0C five minutes ago with almost no wind!
