Think we well see 25c in central London on Monday.

Unreal really but then again we did see 24c a few Halloweens ago. There is something a little surreal walking around in such temperatures with leaves crunching under foot.

Yes a very warm spell and having a quick dig I see that 1921 was also very comparable and holds 8 days daily records for Octobers highest temperatures.Just to note that 25.9 degrees has been recorded as late as 18 th October, also 20 deg as late as 23rd of November and almost reached as early as 13th of February !

1921 Heatwave! The high of 28.9C in London on the 5th and 6th remained a record maximum for October until 1985; it is still the record warmest day so late in the year this century. The high of 27.8C in London on the 9th is the latest date in the year when 80F was reached anywhere in the UK. The heatwave was prolonged over several days: 25C was exceeded eight times in the first ten days. The temperature at Brighton on the night of the 1-2 didn't follow below 17.2C (63F). Later, 24.4C was reported in several locatons in the southeast on the 18th
