    That wasn't what was forecast.

I know. Tried to put a confused emoticon but wouldn’t let me lol. One of the PSNI Facebook pages said the same thing. I thought it was strange.

Winds strong enough here but not as bad as earlier.

Will that dilute the power of the storm?

If it’s true it would mean stronger gusts along the south east flank

Just been up to the local Toddbrook reservoir here which faces west, winds were mostly peaking at 40mph gusts but occasionally you'd see a 60mph wall of spray where the stronger winds were hitting the waves, quite a sight. Vids and pics simply don't do the strength of the storm any justice, even though we're about 40mi from the Mersey Estuary here it still packs a punch.

Well the feature is still there on the 20:38 updated image.  Not sure if it's going to deepen much but worth keeping an eye on for sure (no pun intended!)

Interesting developments based on the pressure chart from xcweather. Only thing that doesn't fit is the wind direction to the northwest of the 'new' low. If there was a new secondary low developing, surely we would be seeing winds there in the opposite direction instead?
